What is the Duke of Edinburgh's Award?

The D of E is a voluntary, non-competitive programme designed for young people ages 14-25. There are four sections that students need to complete:

1. Volunteering – To encourage students to help in the local community.
2. Skill – To encourage the discovery and development of practical and social skills and personal interests. As an organisation we offer a nationally recognised First Aid certificate through St John Ambulance.
3. Physical – To encourage participation or improvement of a physical activity.
4. Expedition – To encourage a spirit of adventure and discovery by preparing for and carrying out an adventurous journey as part of a team.

History of the Award at Trinity

During the 5 years we have been running the D of E at Trinity we have enabled over 150 students to gain the Bronze awards and 75 students to complete their Silver awards. In 2010 – 2011 we had 42 Bronze candidates and 21 Silver candidates who will all complete within the next few weeks.
We are planning to again this year run the D of E at Trinity and would like to have as many students taking part as we can.
