Key Framework Objectives

R10 Analyse the overall structure of a text to identify how key ideas are developed e.g. through the organisation of the content and the patterns of language used.
S2 explore the impact of a variety of sentence structures.
S3 to make good use of the full range of punctuation including colons and semi-colons.
WR14 Develop and signpost arguments in ways that make the logic clear to the reader.
S&L7 Listen for a specific purpose, paying sustained attention and selecting for comment or question that which is relevant to the agreed focus.

AF4 Identify and comment on the structure and organisation of texts, including grammatical and presentational features at text level.

AF3 Organise and present whole texts effectively.
AF4 Construct paragraphs and use some cohesion within paragraphs.

Learning Outcomes - All students should be able to:

understand the key terms fiction and non-fiction.
identify a modal verb in a sentence.
explore the structure of fiction and non-fiction texts.
identify the use of figurative language e.g. simile and metaphor.
