Courses

Students wishing to go into a Nursing or Social Work career will especially find the Double Award in Health and Social Care an interesting and challenging course to undertake. This course will provide the necessary skills and attributes required for Health Care work.

The course consists of three units:

1. Understanding personal development and relationships (external exam)

2. Health and Well-being (coursework)

3. Researching how Organisations are organised and developed (coursework)

This is a challenging but rewarding course, during which students will undertake a certain amount of directed independent study.

ICT is used throughout the course

Additional Information

The examination board followed is Edexcel - the final assessment consists of the following:

• Two Pieces of coursework

• An External exam at Foundation Tier (G to C) or  Higher Tier (D to A*)

Homework

Homework will be set regularly, and will mainly consist of Coursework tasks.
