Music Mark 2025-2026
Music at Trinity flourishes beyond the classroom. Led by a team of experienced and ambitious teachers and in partnership with our colleagues from One Education Music, students participate in abroad and varied range of teacher-led musical ensembles, student-led bands and informal music groups. We have many extra-curricular music ensembles including four choirs, orchestra, stage band, steel pans, guitar & ukulele ensembles, brass, woodwind and string groups as well as theory lessons, Band Skills in every year group, DJ and Music Production clubs. The ensembles are thoroughly enjoyed by all, and attendance is rewarded with Trinity Credits.
Over 400 students take advantage of our extensive range of peripatetic music tuition delivered by expert instrumental and vocal tutors, including piano, strings, brass, woodwind, guitar, bass guitar, singing, drums and steel pans and successfully take ABRSM and Rock School graded exams. All lessons are timetabled on rotation during the school day and are accessible to all, regardless of income.
We are proud of our four school choirs who are regularly invited to perform at events across the city. Our school Orchestra and Stage Band are thriving. We rehearse together weekly after-school to prepare for our annual concerts and performances at events such as Open Evening, Presentation Evening and venues such as Manchester Cathedral, St Ann’s Church, RNCM, Manchester University and Z-Arts. Our highly successful steel band entertain us at many school events, including during our 40th Anniversary celebrations. We travelled to Holland for a Music Concert Tour in 2023, with 80 students performing in Germany in Summer 2025.
The music and drama departments collaborate regularly and in recent years have produced sell-out performances of Oliver!, The Wizard of Oz, Beauty and the Beast, School of Rock and Shrek the Musical in 2024.
