KS4 Scheme of Work

For GCSE Music we follow the Edexcel specification which is covers a diverse range of musical styles, times and cultures. The course integrates performing, composing and listening work.

Summary of Course

Paper 1: Performing                             30%

Solo performance              (15%)

Ensemble performance   (15%)

Paper 2: Composing                             30%

Composition 1                     (15%)

Composition 2                     (15%)

Paper 3: Listening & Appraising        40%

Written exam (1hour 30 mins)
Pupils will answer questions on all four Areas of Study
