The Physical Education Department aims to educate all students physically, mentally and socially and to encourage a greater knowledge and awareness of Health Education.

The Department aims to ensure that all students in Years 7, 8 and 9 (KS3) participate in a broad and balanced curriculum, which delivers the following areas of experience: Athletics, Games, Dance and Gymnastics.

In addition to the above four areas, a fifth, comprising Outdoor Pursuits, is delivered within a restricted format during the Year 8 Residential Week in the Peak District.

At key stage 4 students study both the theory and practical elements of Physical Education. Students will choose one activity from each box in year 10 and repeat them in year 11.
