Trinity celebrates new-look Learning Resource Base
Trinity C of E High School, in Hulme, held a party after school on 27 September to celebrate the massive improvements made to its Learning Resource Base (LRB) over the summer holidays. More than 100 guests including students, parents, staff, governors and special guest author Melvin Burgess enjoyed an evening of readings, magic, face painting, competitions and cake. At the climax of the evening, the winner of a competition held in June to design a logo for the new-look LRB was announced. Moheb Lali, now in year 8, won a Nintendo DS Lite and £15 in Waterstone’s vouchers for his amazing entry. LRB manager Luke Richardson said, “We’re celebrating the arrival of a host of new resources, facilities and furniture, but more than that it’s about the huge increase in student enthusiasm for the LRB. The number of entries for the logo competition was one indicator, but average daily loans are now twice what they were in May. In December the LRB wasn’t functioning at all. To say we’re pleased is an understatement.”
