Applications

Trinity’s application form will be issued with a Local Authority application pack to Manchester residents. Residents of other LA’s must obtain Trinity’s supplementary form from:

The Clerk to Governors
Trinity Church of England High School
Cambridge Street
Hulme
Manchester
M15 6HP

Completed forms must be returned to your home education authority.

If application is made on the grounds of religious commitment, Section C of the form allows statements on the religious commitment of the families to be made available to the Admissions Panel. In such cases, parents should ask their Rector, Vicar, Minister or other religious leader to complete Section C and return it to the parent.

It is the responsibility of the parents to return the completed application form to their LA by the published deadline.

If application is made on the grounds of special needs, the parents must give the name of a person from whom the Governors may seek supporting evidence (in Section B).

Parents will be informed of the result of their application by their home local authority. As a guide to parents, it may be useful to know that last year there were 700 applications for 240 places.

Appeals

Parents of children to whom places are not offered have the right to appeal against the decision, in which case they must give notice of their appeal, in writing, to the Clerk to the Governors.

Appeals are heard by an Independent Appeals Committee. Its procedures are in accordance with legislation. Parents may attend the hearing of their appeal and may be accompanied by a friend. They are, in any case, notified of the arrangements for the hearing and are informed of their rights. The decision of the Appeals Committee is final.

New Intake Arrangements

The parents of students in the New Intake will be invited to bring their children to a meeting during April and again in June. Arrangements are also made for each new student to spend a day at Trinity during July. The purpose of these activities is to share information needed in preparation for the Autumn term.

The organisation and curriculum of the school are guided by the Governors’ Statement. Essentially the curriculum has been designed to provide a well-balanced education to exploit to the full the potential development of each student, giving as wide an opportunity of choice as possible for employment and continuing education.

Because of the enrichment of life that can be derived from the presence of those of other ethnic origins and the knowledge of their cultures, the curriculum is designed to draw upon that wealth.
