The Governors have established a trust fund whose purpose is to enhance the quality of education in the school and the environment in which it takes place. The fund is a registered charity. All parents are invited to contribute to the fund and, wherever possible, to donate using Gift Aid so that tax may be reclaimed.
Although parents of primary school children often live in the same area and meet at the school gate, this is not true of secondary schools, and opportunities have to be provided for parents to meet. This is a major role of the Trinity Association, which exists to support the school’s activities in the broadest sense and arrange functions which bring parents, staff, students and Governors together. The Association’s aim, therefore, is primarily social though funds are raised for extra equipment for the school.
The Trinity Association supports the many functions when the Trinity family comes together to celebrate different achievements.
Celebration has a special part in the school’s life. Mention has been made of our celebrations at the end of Year 7. We also have Awards Evenings for achievement in sport and another for the arts. We celebrate ‘Graduations’ at the end of Key Stage 3. The departure of Year 11 is marked with a Leavers’ Prom, normally held in a Manchester hotel, and their Presentation Evening is held at the Whitworth Hall, the University of Manchester.
