Hi, I’m Steve Birkinshaw, the School Chaplain.
As school chaplain it’s my privilege to help students and staff explore and
develop
faith in a safe, relevant
and encouraging environment, and
help us celebrate what it means to be a faith community with a Christian
ethos.
The school’s chaplaincy offers several connection points throughout the
life of the school: weekly Christian Unions for upper and lower school,
monthly Eucharists (attendance is on a voluntary basis), informal
counselling, a spiritually-reflective
thought for the week, spiritual
retreats, and a variety of special events in school and around
Manchester.
You’ll see me around the school, in assemblies, in RE lessons, teaching
maths, and on some school trips. I love the outdoors, football, music,
travel, and good food (in no particular order). I’m very approachable,
so please say ‘hi’, and if I can help you in any way I will.
